• Your dog must see you as the leader.
• Be consistent, calm and patient. To control your dog you must control yourself.
• Rewards must be valuable to the dog and under your control.
• Set up rules and boundaries in your home and stick to them. Integrate training into daily routine.
• Walk dog daily & properly.
• Never call your dog to you and then punish.
• Don't allow your dog to ignore a command.
• Don't nag or confuse your dog.
• Wrestling and Tug of War play with a dog may establish unwanted dominant behaviors.
• New dog or puppy? - set goals BEFORE you bring dog home and enforce immediately.
• Training sessions should be planned, short and fun! Know what you want to achieve and quit while you're ahead.
